Emotional Intelligence (EQ) refers to the ability to identify and utilize our own emotions positively. Developing a better EQ helps us to excel in everything we do – especially career, health and relationships.
The obvious question which arises is how to develop EQ? The answer is that we need to practice Mindfulness. One way of explaining Mindfulness is to be completely aware of our surroundings and being absorbed in every activity we perform. Examples include: Mindful Eating – relishing the taste and smell of food we eat that leads better saliva secretion and better digestion; Mindful Exercise – Watching our breath and heart beat while doing exercise and becoming aware of how our body is responding to the workout.
This way, everything we do on a day-to-day basis becomes a Meditation!
